Memories

Created by Joanne 6 years ago

I have known Paul from the first day he started at St. Marys, Fetcham.  I vividly remember all the Boughtons coming over to our house for a BBQ when Sophie and Alice must have been the age my children are now!  Paul was such a wonderful, selfless and supportive man with a big smile and great sense of humour.

Henk and I fondly remember the marriage preparation courses Paul gave us at his house in Fetcham when we sat and discussed the value and importance of marriage over a glass of wine.  Having known him for years, it felt more like having guidance from a friend than anything else.  We felt so lucky to have Paul perform our wedding where he made us feel at ease on such an important day - we only have to watch our wedding video to be reminded of the beautiful ceremony he gave us.

During sadder times, I remember his support when my grandfather died and his kind words at such a difficult time.  He referred to John 14 verses 1-14 and described the hope of eternal life that God gives to Christian people and in particular the verse where Jesus tells us that “he’s gone ahead of us, to make up the beds in his Father’s house”.

With much love to you all at this time,

Joanne, Henk, Henry and Emilia. xx
